Business Development Specialist for Fine Foods

This role is established for the Core Foodservice unit, to lead the portfolio & sales expansion of Consistent into the Fine Foods segment.  This segment includes premium meats – from beef, pork, poultry & lamb, seafoods, and high end culinary ingredients – such as baking & dairy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Look at current industry and market behavior & trends and develop insights as basis for action or updating of current strategies if needed.
  •  Evaluate the competitor's strategies & tactics for benchmarking and reference for developing our own strategies.
  •  Identify foodservice channel opportunities.  Recommend where should we prioritize our growth efforts & what is needed to do so.
  • Identify customer opportunities, together with Core Sales, that we should be developing for Fine Foods, whether established Core customers, or potential new accounts.
  • Identify new customer leads, thru desk research, referrals, field work and marketing executions.
  • Act as the Fine Foods product expert partner of Core Sales, executing detailing & technical demos, when needed.
  •  Regular evaluation of Consistent's current product offering for Fine Foods. Make recommendations to keep/delist.
  • Regular evaluation of our pricing positions, taking into account market prices and the company's margin goals.
  • Recommend brands and suppliers to the Buying group & OPT, as necessary for procurement.
  • Identify custom product opportunities, together with Core Sales, for in-house production to win long term whale or key account customers.
  • Coordinate with the Consistent Meat Solutions unit, or other identified manufacturing partners, for the development of fabricated, processed or custom products for the Core customer.
  • Act as the R&D and Quality Assurance point person for Core.
  •  Be the face of Consistent in key product presentation opportunities (ex. social media, WOFEX, customer activations, associations, HRAP, FCAP).
  • Works with the Marketing Manager to determine and develop thorough budgets, expense estimations, and targets.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's/master’s degree in marketing or Entrepreneurship or Business with experience in the foodservice, hospitality or restaurant industry.
  • Degree in the Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management with experience in brand or category management for foodservice or packaged foods.
  • Communication Management Skills
  • Computer Skills Proficient and can operate on MS Office, Slack, Google Suite, NetSuite, and other job-related programs/applications.
