It’s November, still a full month before Christmas.
But if you look around, it might as well be the 25th of December.
It’s that time of the year when all malls are bedecked with decors from the ground to topmost floor, when homes have Christmas lights and trees set up, and when you will hear Jose Mari Chan everywhere.
The annual nature of holidays makes them all the more special. After all, it’s not everyday you can exchange gifts and find a reason to give someone “something long and hard”, right?
Filipinos flock malls and restaurants to spend more time with family and friends, whether it is a small gathering or a full-blown reunion.
As a restaurant owner, you would not want to be late into the festivities, especially during one of the busiest times of the year.
So if you are looking to further boost the feel of Christmas in your restaurant, look at these photos for inspiration:
- Rolf’s Bar & Restaurant
Rolf’s motto must be “go big or go home” because that is exactly what their decors say.
This New York City bar takes their Christmas seriously, with the owner saying they spend $60,000 worth of lights, ornaments, icicles, and dolls every year.
To make it all worth it, their decorations stay up from September until the end of April the following year.
- Harvester
Unlike the Philippines, the rest of the world doesn’t start decorating until December.
However, a restaurant in Gloucester, United Kingdom seemed to (unknowingly) follow the Filipino tradition of starting Christmas early.
Harvester, a family-friendly pub located in Gloucester, already had their Christmas decors up by September. This pub that serves grills and salads definitely took their neighbors by surprise when they welcomed the holidays early—something unheard of in their neck of the woods.
- Fonda San Miguel
Fonda San Miguel prides itself as the top Mexican restaurant in the US, serving authentic cuisine with fresh ingredients.
But it’s not just the food they are proud of. Their Christmas decors beautifully used classic holiday colors, with garlands adorning their windows and a tree as centerpiece of the dining room. The result? A simply yet very classy dining experience.
- Bub City, Chicago
Save Mother Earth and decorate your bar at the same time. This is probably what Bub City, a club based in Chicago, Illinois, had in mind with this garland made of recycled beer cans, wreaths, and fake snow.
- Filomena Ristorante
Filomena Ristorante, an Italian restaurant located in Georgetown, Washington DC, takes three weeks to hang all their bright and sparkly decors.
According to their staff, the restaurant uses at least 10,000 lights on their tree alone on top of all the countless ornaments. Mama Mia, indeed!
- 1789
The owners of 1789 Restaurant do not cut corners when it comes to decorating.
This contemporary American fine dining restaurant contracts decorator William Watts every year just to decorate its interior. 1789 has had its ceilings strung with vines, white lights, and various Christmas ornaments. Watts also brought in antique toys to complement the restaurant’s renovated Federal house theme.
- Donn’s Depot
Located in Texas, Donn’s Depot is a night club famous for its roster of artists playing live every night. For their Christmas décor, they opted to go simple, but the final look is truly a sight to see. A lot of handmade star origamis seem to float up in the ceiling, while Christmas lights are strategically hung, giving the place a cozier feel to it.
